Terms & Conditions
Room for Ten
Effective date: 7 November 2026
1. About us
Room for Ten is an online facilitated peer-discussion service operated by Samuel Doward, a sole proprietor based in Berlin, Germany.
Contact: sam@roomforten.com
Room for Ten brings together small groups of adults who are exploring their relationship with alcohol, taking a break from drinking, or pursuing longer-term abstinence.
2. Eligibility and participation
Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Our groups are designed around the intention of remaining alcohol-free throughout the programme. We do not monitor or verify participants' alcohol consumption, and experiencing a setback does not automatically mean someone must leave the group.
Participants must attend meetings sober, respect others and follow the group rules.
Speaking is voluntary. Participants may listen without contributing.
3. The programme
Each programme lasts approximately one month and consists of an introductory session, regular facilitated Zoom meetings and a closing reflection session.
The dates, times, time zone and number of sessions are displayed before purchase and confirmed by email.
Groups have limited places and are intended to bring together a consistent set of participants throughout the month.
4. Prices and payment
The standard price is £99 GBP per month.
We may offer discounts for early bookings, promotional campaigns or purchasing multiple months.
The final total price, including any applicable taxes and discounts, will be displayed before payment.
Payments are processed through Stripe.
Bookings are one-off purchases. Purchasing one or more months does not create an automatically renewing subscription.
Your booking is confirmed after successful payment and receipt of a booking confirmation.
5. Cancellations, refunds and transfers
Except where required by law or expressly provided in these terms, bookings are non-refundable.
Participants can request a transfer to another available group at least 10 calendar days before the scheduled start date. Transfers depend on availability and are not guaranteed.
If Room for Ten cancels a programme before it begins, participants may choose a full refund or a transfer to another available programme.
Where we fail to provide services as agreed, applicable statutory rights and remedies remain unaffected.
Missing an individual session does not ordinarily entitle a participant to a refund.
6. Statutory withdrawal rights
For online bookings covered by statutory consumer withdrawal rights, you can withdraw from your contract within 14 days after the date of booking without giving a reason.
To withdraw, send an unambiguous statement to sam@roomforten.com or use the withdrawal function available on our website. You may also use the model withdrawal form below.
If you validly withdraw before the programme has started, we will refund your payment in full, unless an applicable legal exception applies.
If you expressly request that the programme begin during your 14-day withdrawal period, you may still withdraw during that period. In that case, a proportionate charge may apply for services already delivered, provided the legal requirements have been satisfied.
If the programme has been fully delivered during the withdrawal period, your withdrawal right may expire if you expressly agreed to early performance and acknowledged the relevant consequences beforehand.
Where a refund is due, it will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your withdrawal notice, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
Nothing in these terms removes statutory consumer rights.
7. Confidentiality
We ask every participant to respect the privacy of others.
Participants must not:
- Record meetings or take screenshots.
- Share another participant's identity, contact information or personal experiences outside the group without permission.
- Invite other people to observe sessions.
- Publish identifiable information about group discussions.
Room for Ten does not record meetings or keep transcripts.
Although these rules are an important part of participation, we cannot guarantee that every participant will respect confidentiality.
8. Respectful behaviour and removal
Everyone must be treated with dignity and respect.
Harassment, discrimination, threats, intimidation, disruptive behaviour and repeated confidentiality violations are prohibited.
We may warn participants, remove them from individual sessions, or terminate their participation where reasonably necessary to protect the group.
Where we terminate someone's participation, any refund or other remedy will be determined fairly and in accordance with applicable consumer law.
9. Health and wellbeing
Room for Ten provides facilitated peer discussions and mutual encouragement. It does not provide medical treatment, psychotherapy, addiction treatment, clinical counselling or medical advice.
Facilitators do not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment.
Abruptly stopping alcohol can be medically dangerous for people with physical alcohol dependence. Participants who may be dependent on alcohol should consult a healthcare professional before attempting abstinence.
Room for Ten is not suitable as a substitute for medically supervised withdrawal or emergency support.
Participation is voluntary, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome.
10. Changes and cancellations by Room for Ten
We may occasionally need to reschedule sessions or arrange a replacement facilitator.
We will communicate important changes as early as reasonably possible.
If a substantial change prevents us from providing the service as agreed, we will offer appropriate remedies in accordance with applicable law.
11. Liability
We undertake to provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health where exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by German law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections provided by the laws of their country of habitual residence.
